12/6/2023 0 Comments Peppermint larry wife![]() ![]() The events of the unaired pilot episode are mentioned in the season one episode " Panfake," where Flapjack tells Peppermint Larry that he has not been this relieved since he beat Eight-Armed Willy at a game of arm wrestling. The episode then ends with Flapjack recounting his brand new adventure as K'nuckles congratulates him, but still adding, after a beat: "But yer still a sissy." Though, this sweet moment wouldn't last long, because as Willy reaches out for the candy, Flapjack suddenly grabs his tentacle with his free hand and slams it on the floor, before yelling: "I win! I beat you at arm wrestling!" and jabbing his finger into Willy's eye, as K'nuckles pinches the other one and the two manage to escape, while, quote in quote, "giggling like school girls." Inspired by the whale's advice, Flapjack tries to gain Willy's friendship by offering him some kind words and a piece of candy, which makes the creature release him from its grasp and declare this act as the nicest thing that anyone had ever done to him. Then, in an attempt to save them both, Flapjack tries to mimic K'nuckles' actions and even tries to attack Willy with a bunch of gentle pinches, but once it is proven futile and he starts to get desperate, he remembers Bubbie's words: "the best way to beat an enemy is to make him your friend," which gives him an idea. And, just like Flap, K'nuckles ends up getting snatched up by the sea creature and have each one of his body parts snapped off, as he begs hysterically for someone to save him-which Flapjack interprets as a some sort of "test." K'nuckles then proceeds to attack Willy, but it soon proves to be pointless as Willy is just too strong. That's when K'nuckles appears all of the sudden, soaked and terrified, but still feeling brave enough to tell Willy that he's about to get womped "by the greatest adventurer ever," to which Flapjack reacts to delighted. ![]() Meanwhile, Flapjack ends up facing Eight-Armed Willy in the bottom of the ocean after slamming his face in the sand, regaining his composture as he realizes that he can finally prove that he is a great adventurer by beating Eight-Armed Willy on arm wrestling, which soon proves to be foolish once Willy emerges from the dark and engulfs him in a pile of tentacles, tangling the boy while laughing. Bubbie gets astonished, and proceeds to smash K'nuckles against the wall of her mouth, which makes him reconsider his position and go look for Flap. Bubbie gets mad and asks K'nuckles if he's going after the boy, to which he responds by dryly stating that he "can't swim", before going back to sleep. Flapjack, still feeling hurt, decides to prove to K'nuckles that he is an adventurer and jumps into the sea with a hobo bindle before anyone could stop him. He then proceeds to lie on his back and let the world pass him by. Upon hearing the phrase, K'nuckles gets mad and turns to face them, only to call Flapjack a sissy and say that he'll never be an adventurer if he keeps following such advices.įlapjack gets heartbroken, while K'nuckles expresses little to no care about what he just said because, according to him, he "lives" life, and doesn't let the world pass him by. Flapjack then proceeds to inform K'nuckles that they might not need a lookout after all, and repeats the same phrase that Bubbie once told him about defeating an enemy, to which the whale expresses agreement with. When he sees Flap holding his nose, he gets mad and takes it away from him. Then, he finally decides to remove the captain's "wooden" nose, which instantly makes him stop snoring and suddenly rise up awake. After a while, he ends up remembering something that Bubbie (referred to as "the Whale") once told him: "the best way to beat an enemy is to make him your friend," which gives him an idea.įlapjack returns to K'nuckles and tries to wake him up, but ends up failing on every attempt. Of course, the tale was most likely made up, but Flapjack still decides to perform his new role as a "lookout" and watch for any approatching dangers that may be surrounding them, as K'nuckles proceeds to rest.Īs you may expect, there are no real "dangers", but still, Flapjack keeps annoucing his observations every time he thinks he saw something happen, only to be proven wrong by the monotony around him. Annoyed, K'nuckles, as the rapscallion that he is, decides to distract Flapjack by telling him a "tale of the sea", envolving some "dangers" that the boy has to look out for. According to the series' pitch bible, the pilot, named "Eight-Armed Willy", starts with K'nuckles attempting to take a nap on Bubbie's tongue before being interrupted by Flapjack, who proceeds to shower him with a bunch of questions. ![]()
